Case Studies

First Time Buyer

Locations: Brixton, Colliers Wood, Clapham

Budget: £525,000

Specification: A two bedroom flat. No garden required

J had a very busy job working long hours and didn’t have the time to arrange viewings and sift through the alerts he had on Zoopla and Rightmove.  He wanted to view as many places as possible on a Saturday.

We sourced a selection of properties and we arranged 25 viewings over the following month. He found the flat he loved in Brixton.

"Looking for a flat in London for the first time is really stressful and daunting. I’m pretty indecisive and risk averse, so adding Laura’s expertise and enthusiasm to the buying process was a game changer. She was by my side every step of the way. She not only sped the process up, but it gave me peace of mind so I could focus on my day job and just get on with life. I have the exact flat I was looking for in a location I never dreamed I’d be able to live in - all thanks to Laura!"

First Time Buyer

Locations: Hackney, Stoke Newington. Walthamstow

Budget: £650,000

Specification: A two bedroom flat with a garden. Light and spacious rooms.

Ms and Mr S had been living in London after renting for the past 6 months and knew they wanted to buy a home they could make their own as it would be cheaper than renting.

They wanted to be near good transport links and be close to independent shops and the creative hub of East London and needed to move as soon as possible as their landlord was selling their property.

"Laura is amazing. We are first time buyers, new to the UK, so we had no information about areas, the market, or what the buying process looks like. Laura held our hand every step of the way. She is very knowledgeable, no-nonsense and patient. She used her industry contacts to make sure we were often the first people to view a flat, and she ultimately helped us to find an absolute gem which we’ve just moved into, and we couldn’t be happier. She also introduced us to an excellent mortgage broker (our situation was complex) and helped us to see warning signs in flats we viewed. She really went above and beyond for us, texting at all hours when we were panicked, and she was just generally lovely. Entirely worth the money."

Four Friends Buying Together with a Mortgage

Locations: Ealing, Acton, Greenford

Budget: £650,000

Specification: 4 bedroom house, two bathrooms on three floors with a garden.

Four friends who had been renting together for many years decided they wanted to buy a home together. They wanted a four bedroom house and did not mind doing some updating. They all worked long hours and had been looking for months with no success; They needed help especially as they had been persuaded to buy a property above a shop which turned out to be unmortgageable.

We searched for properties and arranged viewings for all of the buyers. We found them a four bedroom house in Ealing which they bought in 2022.

"We decided to look into hiring a buying agent after a fruitless year of house hunting on our own. As we are four adults looking to buy together on a relatively limited budget, we were really struggling to find places that would suit our needs. We chose London Home Search because they were willing to work with our budget and uncommon situation.

Laura was great. Having someone else take over the scouring of property websites and talking to estate agents was worth the money by itself. And once we found a place we liked, it was great to have an expert deal with all the back and forth between the sellers, solicitors, estate agents etc that comes with the buying process, especially as ours was particularly long. It’s such a stressful process, and having someone else to do all the checking in and chasing up required was a real burden lifted from us.

We’d definitely recommend Laura and London Home Search."
